Francesco "Fra" and Benedetto "Benni" are two longtime Italian friends who both work and live in London. They share the same respect for food, combining great care to sourcing raw materials with meticulous attention to details in their presentations. They've started this project together in order to express and voice their passion for aperitivo, that will be hard not to listen to.
THE concept
Truffle&Basil sprouts in 2020 from the desire of matching the never-ending Italian passion for al-fresco aperitivi with London’s frantic lifestyle. We believe that a few high-quality bites, well assembled together, could potentially capture the priceless value of a cheerful moment with friends.

It’s within the core of Truffle&Basil to maintain high sustainability standards and reduce our waste impact. In fact, we cook, we grow, we create: whenever we have to rely on other sources, we embrace local farming and respectful approaches towards the whole food chain.
A RE-USE culture stands at the true foundation of Truffle&Basil's philosophy.

*Our box sanitising process goes through a detailed order of steps:

Application of a paste of baking soda and lime juice on the surface for stains removal

Immersion into a solution made of hot water, bleach and dishwasher gel to get rid of all the bacterias and make our boxes allergy friendly**

A full 60degree dishwasher cycle

Drying with a cotton cloth
After each cycle, we apply a new food paper sheet inside each box.

**We are not able to guarantee a 100% free cross-contamination service. We adopt all the measures in our hands to minimise the risk of an allergy reaction (non porous, durable and colour coded plastic trays, color coded pans, colour coded knives, clean and sanitisation between uses). According to the grade of your allergy, it’s your responsibility to choose to eat from our platters or not. Truffle&Basil will not be held responsible for heavy intolerance reactions.

THE BOX
Our food box represents the true backbone of our product: it is a bespoke branded wooden crate, topped up with treats and delivered right to your door! It is not conceived for single use, you can either keep it and make it a new home for books, candles and lots of other things or give it back to us on your second order. We will recollect it, sanitise it* and get it ready to host another great aperitivo
